We had a WONDERFUL weekend! Friday, Nic came over and he & Matt painted Miss Lilly's room. Friday night, Matt & I put her room back together while she slept in the spare room upstairs. (No paint fumes for our little girl!) On Saturday, we woke up bright and early and I took this picture:About an hour later, the snow was completely melted! We finally have a yard and our whole driveway! (Until now, we've only been able to use one side of our 2-car driveway.) We went for a walk around our neighborhood and then met up with Nic at the furniture store and picked up 4 more chairs for our dining room table, 2 nightstands for our bedroom and a dresser for our bedroom as well. We're still waiting on our chest of drawers, so I'll put up a picture of our room when all the furniture is here.
After we got the furniture arranged, Matt's mom came over and watched Lilly so Matt and I could run some errands and hang out together. We had a great afternoon! We ran into my friend Jand it was fun catching up with him.
Sunday, Matt preached at Open Door and did a great job. I am so proud of my man! We went out to lunch with Matt's family and then rented some movies and took a much needed nap in the afternoon. Nic & Jen came over and we all took a long walk and then had dinner and hung out for awhile. All in all, it was a pretty great weekend. I can't remember the last time we had an entire weekend to do anything we wanted without appointments, ministry responsibilities or obligations of some sort. I feel like we had a vacation!
I have posted some pictures of the house below. With the exception of paint (I can't decide on a color), the downstairs is done (for the time being). This is the living room, dining area and kitchen: My office is now green and I'm working at getting it all organized. (You can't see the PILES of papers all over the floor! I promise I'll get them filed away this week!)This is the hallway leading to Lilly's very pink room. To be honest, I never thought I'd willingly paint any room pink. I also never thought I'd own a minivan and like it...Don't worry...There's still a LOT of unpacking to do. We just hide it away in the spare rooms. Spare room #1:Spare room #2:In other news, Lilly is now in her big-girl car seat! She's growing up so fast! She's said her first word ("baby"), clicks her tongue, whistles, and says "Wow!" in a cute little whisper. She really likes sniffing out of her nose. She scrunches her face up and wrinkles her nose and breathes really fast. It's pretty funny to watch. She's an amazing baby. We love her so much!
Hi Kate! I love seeing all of these pictures on your blog! You are a great blogger! Thanks for the congrats about Ryan getting into DeVos in GR. We are so excited. Lilly is so great, I feel like I know here...eventhough I've never met her cuteness face to face. Perhaps sometime we should catch up over coffee...

When Love Means Nothing

Sorry I haven't posted in a really ,really ,long time. I have been kind of

so here's what i want you to do, GOD helping you: take your everyday, ordinary life--your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life--and place it before GOD as an offering. embracing what GOD does for you is the best thing you can do for him. don't become so well adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. instead, fix your attention on GOD. you'll be changed from the inside out. readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, GOD brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
