Lilly's been enjoying the sprinkler this summer. She soaks herself pretty much every afternoon these days. Unfortunately, our lawn does not reflect this fact, as you can see by it's yellow hue.

On the 4th, we went up to the Apple Festival Fairground in Niles for fireworks and fun with the rest of Open Door. (There are more photos on the Open Door photo gallery.)

It was a good visit.
Grandma Lilly told me the story of how she met Grandpa,

Lilly & Kaden played a lot,

Brandy & I got to spend a whole lot of time together,
Lilly rode on the tractor with Grandpa Lilly,
we hung out at Grandpa & Grandma Chaput's,

we ate a lot of food, I went out to eat and saw a movie with Brandy, Kelsey, Darcy & Fred,
I hung out with Chantay,
and had a good time in general. That's a lot for only 2 days!
Lilly had a rough ride to Kansas. She started teething as soon as we got in the car, and cried almost the entire 13 hour drive there.I thought for sure she'd be crabby for the rest of the week, but she caught up on her sleep right away and was very good for us from then on.

She did great on the ride home.

We stopped at a fancy-pants rest area somewhere in Missouri or Illinois and she ran around the playground with her Grandpa for awhile.

I love that girl!
