Congrats, Fiskeaux Family!

I just got news that Hilary (my friend in Kentucky) just had her first baby. His name is Caspian Charlie (a nod to Narnia & his daddy). He's such a cutie! I'm so happy for Hilary & Charlie!Caspian Charlie Fiskeaux

Last of the Wedding Weekend Photos...

On Sunday the 16th, my cousin Shayla (see below) and uncle Larry got into town following Shayla's tournament. They missed the wedding, but Shayla (& Chantay) did get to spend a little quality time with Lilly. We also got to talk to Sam in Afghanistan via Yahoo! Messenger and webcams a couple times in the last couple weeks. It is really great for Shannon to be able to see her husband when they chat nowadays. If you have Yahoo! Messenger and want to be included on our friends list for when Sam can talk to everyone, email me. (You don't have to have a webcam to see someone else's, and you can still chat through IM's.) If you can't tell, this is Shannon & Sam chatting online.

Countdown to Sam's Homecoming!

Congrats, Ann & Andrew Burkey!

On Saturday, July 15, my sister, Ann, married Andrew Burkey at Christian Tabernacle in Mishawaka. The wedding was beautiful, and so was Annie.
Lilly wore her pretty miniture flowergirl dress. (That's Chasity holding her. Chasity was a big help the whole day!)

Andrew and his groomsmen looked quite smashing as well! Here are just a couple bridesmaids--cousins Kelsey & Chantay and sister Shannon.Jen was there! For the last couple months, we've had a countdown to Ann's wedding on the refrigerator at Mom & Dad's. This was taken the day after the wedding. We have a new countdown now, because Sam's coming home for 2 weeks on August 14!

This is just some of the family that came in for Ann's wedding: From L to R: Sharon, Dennis, Susan, Kaden, Nic, Sandy, Shannon, Kelsey, Kate, Lilly, Matt, Jameon, Brandy, Chantay & Darcy

Lilly had a good time practicing her talking ("I love you") with Grandma on Sunday.

Lilly & Kaden

Lilly got to meet her cousin, Kaden, last week for the first time. They are 3 weeks apart in age (Lilly's older). Kaden is my cousin (and good friend) Brandy's baby, and Brandy and I are only 5 months apart in age. We got married 5 months apart, and had our first children within the same month! I was so excited when Brandy came out for Ann's wedding. I can't wait to see her again over Labor Day weekend when we go out to Kansas to visit. This is a photo of the two of us at Annie's new house:
Here are some shots of Kaden & Lilly's 1st photo shoot together!
They really enjoyed having 3 people taking their picture at the same time:

Ann's Bachelorette Party & Rehearsal Dinner

Our cousin, Chantay, flew in from Kansas for the wedding on July 12. She met Lilly that afternoon. (Our cousin Kelsey flew in that evening, but I don't have a picture of her.)The night of the 12th, we had Ann's bachelorette party. Ann had to wear a red horned veil and a "bachelorette" sash the whole night. We had a lot of fun. We started out at Logan's Roadhouse, and moved on to various places around Michiana where Ann had to complete a scavenger hunt of sorts. For example, Ann had to say "hey sexy" to 5 strangers, propose to someone, have her photo taken with someone named Andrew, get a guy to serenade her, and so on. It was pretty funny!Later that night we went to get tattoos done for my cousins Chantay and Kelsey. Chantay had a heart-shaped basketball with her number (22) on her foot, and Kelsey had "Lilly" (her last name) in pretty script put on her achilles tendon, right above her heel. You know a place is classy when they put up signs like this:Chantay really enjoyed the whole tattooing process! The next night we had Ann & Andrew's wedding rehearsal & dinner. We ate at Reggio's in Mishawaka. Ann & Andrew sure looked dapper. Lilly wore her foofiest dress for the occasion.

Rolling Over, Independence Day & Swimming Fun

I am sorry it's been so long since I last updated you on what we've been up to lately. I guess I'll just start way back in June. On the 27th, Lilly rolled over all by herself! Of course, I only photographed the aftermath for you, but you get the idea. On July 1, I hosted Ann's lingerie shower at the apartment...here is one of her very FAVORITE gifts! I especially like the bunny tail. The cufflinks are a nice touch, also!Earlier that day, we went up to Watervliet, Michigan to celebrate Independence Day with the Podjans. Matt enjoyed showing Lilly off to his family. On the 4th of July, (Happy Birthday, Grandma Lilly!) we joined the rest of Open Door in Niles for the fireworks display at the Apple Festival Fairgrounds. Lilly was a little patriot in her flag shirt! On July 9 (Lilly's 3 month birthday), Lilly went for her first swim at George & Norma's (next to G & G Chaput's house). Auntie Ann was there for moral support. Lilly didn't like the cold water, but she was happy enough when Grandma dried her off!

I'm Still Alive!

I know it's been forever since I've posted anything new, but with Ann's wedding and all, it's been a little crazy around here! I promise I am working on a bunch of new blogs that I will be posting over the next few days! Stay tuned...
