What's new with Lilly...

For those of you who don't get to hang out with Lilly on a regular basis, I thought I'd let you know what she's been up to. Let's see, Lilly LOVES horses (or "pomeys"), reading, my Many Moods of Christmas CD (remember that one, Penn alumni?) dancing, rocking chairs ("rocky, rocky"), when Nic does his Cookie Monster impression, her Jonah & the big fish bath toy...just to name a few things.

She loves eating "cackers"--graham crackers, animal crackers...and banana bread. She also begs me for "fissa" (pizza), "oni" (mac & cheese), & "dia" (quesodillas). She's on a big fruit kick...especially kiwi, bananas, grapes, oranges and apples. The only veggie she'll eat reliably are green beans (& french fries...do they count?)

She is talking up a storm, and has been for months now. I'd estimate she knows over 75 words and is starting to make sentences ("Where Mommy go go?") She asks to call all of her aunts, uncles and "Bama" (Grandma) on the phone daily. She follows directions very well. She's a very good girl!

She's tall for her age and thin for her age. Which makes finding pants for her extremely tricky. It wasn't so bad when the weather was warmer, but I can't really send her out in the cold in capris, can I?

Funny words that we taught Lilly (and that she pronounces correctly): hamburger, appropriate, hallelujah, naked nudie & okey-dokey.

She's been saying "hi baby" to my growing belly. I'm pretty sure she has no idea what's going on, but it's cute anyway!

She calls her Happy Meal toy "Donald" and cries when I can't find him for her. She loves wearing her sunglasses, and resembles Elton John when she wears them. And I can't find them right now. I also can't find her Bambi book, and that is sad.

Here are some Lilly photos for your viewing pleasure...

Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a very busy weekend. Wednesday night, Matt's brother Andy came down from Lansing to stay with us. The guys had a good time hanging out. Thursday morning I put the finishing touches on our Thanksgiving dinner, and we ate until we were stuffed. Then we watched Blades of Glory...a movie I consider to be an American classic. Later in the afternoon we went to Matt's mom's for more food and family time. Lilly enjoyed looking at the pictures (of herself) and playing with a noisy boat thingy. All together, it was a good day. Lilly had a blast with her uncle Andy (she adores all of her uncles!) and was a very good girl despite her very runny nose. On Friday, I woke up at 5 to go shopping with Ann. We started at the mob scene that was Menards and continued on to Michaels, the mall (I don't think I've been there in over 6 months...now I remember why), Walmart and then I hit Family Christian Store later in the day. It was a long day, but I got about 90% of my Christmas shopping done!Saturday Matt got a good start on the Christmas lights, and I watched La Bamba on TV. What could be better?! Here are some photos from the weekend...
